    Hiring an independent housekeeper on your own means you will need to deal with the hiring, firing, and scheduling yourself. You must take the initiative to check their eligibility to work in the US, check their work history and references, do background checks, etc. to ensure you get someone trustworthy and experienced. 


    CONVENIENCE AND SUPPORT: With Cleanology Housekeeping Personnel Service, we do it all for you! Each professional cleaner we register undergoes vigorous background checks as well as an in-person interview to make sure you will have availability to the best of the best!

     

    The extensive background checks confirm:

    • Legal status
    • Criminal background records (both locally and nationwide)
    • Social security number trace
    • Sex registry search
    • Housekeeping experience and reliability

  • What can a professional housekeeping service do for my home?

    Because every client’s house cleaning needs are different, we take great pride in arranging a wide range of quality house cleaning services at competitive rates. Whether you are looking for on-going recurring services (weekly; bi-weekly; etc.), or the occasional one-time/as needed cleaning, all services are provided according to the client’s choices and needs– what works best for the client also works best for the cleaners.


    To ensure all aspects of your cleaning requests are addressed, it is recommended that you check our SERVICES to find in-depth lists of choices and details of the services you would like the professional housekeepers to provide.

  • How will our relationship work?

    At Cleanology®, we believe in building ongoing relationships with our clientele based on open communication and trust, which is why we don't require long-term contracts knowing that we must earn your continued patronage with each housekeeping referral.

  • Can I schedule discounted housekeeping services on a regular recurring basis? Can I get the same cleaner(s) every time?

    Absolutely! Cleanology excels at arranging discounted recurring cleaning services based on cleaning frequencies (i.e., weekly, bi-weekly, etc.). 


    Once your recurring services are scheduled, we will coordinate everything to match you with the best housekeeping professionals available based on your requested date, time, priorities, and location. If you prefer a specific housekeeper to do your cleaning, please let us know so we can schedule them for your bookings. 


    If you ever have concerns regarding your services, we will work to resolve the issues to your satisfaction. For instance:

    • If your regular housekeeper is unable to make a scheduled appointment, we can refer substitute housekeepers to fill in.
    • If you feel the quality of your regular housekeeper’s work is unsatisfactory, we will find a suitable replacement to ensure all your future cleaning requirements will be fulfilled.
  • Do I have a choice of which type of cleaning products the housekeepers use? Do the housekeepers provide cleaning supplies and equipment, or do I need to supply them?

    Yes, you do have choices. While the housekeepers do provide all cleaning equipment and supplies, they would be pleased to accommodate your request for them to use your personal products. They can also use either earth-friendly “green” products or conventional cleaning products. The cost will be the same in either instance.


    Please inform us in advance so we can arrange for them to accommodate your request.

  • Are there any restrictions? What CANNOT be included in any cleaning request?

    To ensure a great experience, service and safety, there are a couple of restrictions. These include:

    • No climbing of ladders: The housekeepers may be able to reach areas with limited access with the use of a small step stool i.e., some exterior window surfaces or walls.

    The following are items or areas the housekeepers will not clean:

    • Bio-hazardous materials (animal/human bodily fluids, urine, feces, blood, etc.)
    • Dangerous or toxic chemicals
    • Homes that are pest or rodent-infested
    • Hoarder-like homes
    • Ceilings
    • Chandeliers or light bulbs
  • What areas does Cleanology® serve?

    Cleanology® proudly serves San Diego, County, CA, as its primary location and service area. We arrange professional housekeeping services from Chula Vista to Oceanside and everywhere in-between, including La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Carlsbad, El Cajon, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, National City, La Mesa, Santee, Poway, Imperial Beach, and Coronado.

  • What days and times can the housekeepers be available to clean my home?

    Cleanings can be scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mondays through Fridays throughout San Diego County.


    Because we understand that life can be unpredictable and that you might sometimes need a cleaning referral for times other than Monday through Friday, we're thrilled to share that some housekeepers will consider referrals for weekends, evenings, and holidays – at minor added costs.

  • Do I have to do anything before the cleaning?

    When it comes to finding the most value from your housekeeping service, having a plan is key. 


    To help ensure the time spent by the housekeeper is as efficient as possible, it is important to provide a list of priorities to our office to share with them before each cleaning. We also recommend picking up any clothing, toys, or other household items that don't need to be cleaned before they arrive. 


    This proactive approach will help save you time and money while still ensuring the same high quality of services that Cleanology always strives to provide our clients. 


    So don't forget - take a few minutes to get your home ready prior to your housekeeper's arrival!

  • Do I have to be home when the team comes?

    It’s your choice. Because Cleanology prioritizes your convenience throughout the entire cleaning process, it can be a terrific opportunity to provide additional instructions to ensure the housekeepers understand your priorities, or to allow them access to certain areas of the home. 


    For clients who are unable to be home when the cleaners arrive, you can also provide secure instructions by contacting our office in advance of the cleaning to coordinate access to your property so there will be no disruption to your service. 


    While we want the housekeeping process to be as seamless as possible, if the housekeeper(s) are unable to access your home for a scheduled cleaning, you may incur a $150 lock-out fee.

  • What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?

    We understand that holidays are special occasions to share and celebrate with friends and family. If your scheduled cleaning falls on one of these days, we will do our best to accommodate your needs by scheduling a different time for your service. 


    Our friendly office personnel will contact you ahead of time, either by email or phone call, to remind you about your appointment and revise it according to the celebration day. Rest assured that we take the utmost care to tend to all our clients’ schedules.

  • What if I need to change the scheduled cleaning? Is there a cancellation policy?

    Cleanology Housekeeping Personnel Service is dedicated to making your life easier! 


    We're here to help ensure your home is getting the quality cleaning it deserves, based on when it fits best with your lifestyle. If something comes up and you need to adjust the date or time of the scheduled cleaning, don't worry – we will always do what we can to try to accommodate your request. Just make sure to let us know at least TWO BUSINESS DAYS prior to your appointment to avoid a potential cancellation fee.

  • Which payment methods do you accept? Is my billing information safe and secure?

    We accept several types of payment methods to best suit your needs. These include most major credit cards, PayPal, or Venmo. ACH transactions are also accepted on a case-by-case basis.


    Regarding credit card processing, we take the security of your personal and financial information very, very seriously. Our payment technology is provided by Square, which has three levels of security in place. Their SSL encrypted, PCL compliant system is completely secure and trusted by companies worldwide. In addition, no credit card numbers are stored in our system (only a token that allows us to charge the card).


    Note that payment is due at the completion of each service.

  • Can I refer a friend to Cleanology? Are there referral incentives?

    YES! Much of our new business is generated by your referrals! If you refer a first-time client who completes a new cleaning, we will give you $15 or more off your next house cleaning. On top of that, when you join the Cleanology REWARDS PLUS loyalty program you will also earn points toward a FREE CLEANING SERVICE!

  • Can I purchase housekeeping services for someone else?

    Yes. CLEANOLOGY® HOUSEKEEPING PERSONNEL SERVICE has a GIFT CERTIFICATE program which allows you to give the gift of a clean fresh home to friends, loved ones, and business relations.


    Our gift certificates are great ideas for move-ins or move-outs (helps to get that security deposit back!), weddings, birthdays, new moms & dads, or just a very original way to say “thanks” or “we are thinking of you.”

  • What if I believe something has been damaged or lost from my home?

    At Cleanology, we understand the importance of safety and security. Before a professional housekeeper can register with Cleanology, they go through a detailed interview process followed by an extensive background search. This ensures that only the most experienced and trustworthy housekeepers are acceptable to register with Cleanology to provide services for our customers. The registration process covers:

    • Legal status
    • Criminal background records (both locally and nationwide)
    • Social security number trace
    • Sex registry search
    • Housekeeping experience and reliability

    DAMAGE: In the event of damage, contact the Cleanology office within 24 hours of the cleaning service so that we may notify the housekeepers of your concerns. 

    While each housekeeper does their best to treat each home with the utmost care, in the event of any damage or breakage while they clean a home, all responsibility falls on the individual housekeeper. 


    LOSS: If after a cleaning a client believes that an item is missing, it is important to first discuss the details with all residents of the property. If they are still convinced that there may have been theft, we strongly encourage our clients to contact their local police department to report this matter. Cleanology takes theft very seriously and in recognition of that, the Cleanology Client Protection Plan will cover up to $2,500 per incident, if a conviction follows.


    As with any visitors or workers in your home, your homeowner or renter’s insurance policy may provide you with coverage for damage or theft.

  • Are the housekeepers’ employees of Cleanology® Housekeeping Personnel Services?

    No. Cleanology® Housekeeping Personnel Service is a referral agency for home cleaning and home services. The domestic housekeepers we work with are independent workers.


    Cleanology is not the employer of the domestic worker it referred to you. The domestic worker may be an employee or an independent contractor depending on the relationship between the client and the independent housekeeper. If the client directs and controls the manner and means by which the housekeeper performs his or her work, the client may have employer responsibilities, including employment taxes and workers’ compensation, under state and federal law. For additional information, contact your local Employment Development Department and the Internal Revenue Service.


    NOTE: The above statement involves situations only where the client contracts with the referred housekeepers for personal services other than the housekeeping services arranged through Cleanology (i.e., house painting; home maintenance; party server; etc.).

  • Can I directly hire housekeepers referred to me by Cleanology®?

    The independent professional housekeepers referred by Cleanology are extensively vetted by our recruitment staff. They are engaged under a referral agreement contract which specifies that their services are available to the client only through Cleanology and that all clients provided to them belong to the company. 


    NOTE: If a cleaner solicits a client despite this agreement, they will be liable to pay a breach-of-contract fee. Please do not accept solicitations from them or encourage them to solicit you.


    If a client would like to directly hire an independent housekeeper referred by Cleanology, the client agrees to pay CLEANOLOGY HOUSEKEEPING PERSONNEL SERVICE a $3,000 placement fee, for each housekeeper hired.
